Paper Bead Tutorial with Sabor Papel

Hello and welcome to my blog.   Summer is upon us and warm weather calls for summer dresses, tanks, and of course beaded jewelry.  Today, I have a great technique to use when you have a good supply of scraps of Sabor Papel's beautiful papers.  This fast and easy technique is excellent as a Make N Take or even as a project to use when you have kids you want to keep busy.

Supplies Needed

scraps of Sabor Papel papers that measure at least 3 to 6 inches long, cut into triangular shapes as shown
liquid glue
pen or narrow paint brush to wrap paper around
toothpicks, if you desire a smaller bead opening
scissors
Mod Podge, if desired
Paint brush if using Mod Podge

 1.  After you cut the scraps into triangular shapes as shown in the pictures above, spread a bead of glue along the side you want to be the inside of the bead as shown.  In other words the side that will not show.

 2.  Wrap the paper around the pen as shown and roll the strip onto itself,  keeping it centered as much as possible.  Once you reach the end of the strip, hold it in place for a few seconds to secure.  It dries pretty fast, so once it is secure, slide the paper bead off the pen and there you have it.  A beautiful Sabor Papel paper bead.
 3.  For a more lustrous finish, you can brush on Mod Podge and allow to dry.

Use these beads as you would any beads.  They look great combined with other beads and jewelry bits from your stash.

I just love the way these beads look when strung together with other jewelry findings.   I can't wait to wear it this summer.  Thank you for visit the blog today and I hope this inspires you to use your scraps to make fun creative projects.

Love and Blessings,

Erminda
